| Introduction |
This seminar will provide the audience with an introduction of the legal issues arising from e-commerce. Emphasis is being made on Hong Kong's Electronic Transactions Ordinance, its legal recognition of Digital Signature and the service of Certification Authority.
A discussion on the service, risk and legal issues relating to Virtual Banks and Securities Trading on the Internet will follow; together with an evaluation of the potential contractual and other legal liabilities. The validity of Exclusion Clauses to avoid e-commerce risk is also discussed. The audience will have a better understanding of the legal aspects of e-commerce. They will have a clear and profound knowledge about validity, authentication and security, which are the most pressing legal aspects right now related to e-commerce. Besides that, audience will be guided to look into the future and have a better idea about all the new opportunities the Internet has to offer" |
