Ian Christofis

Ian has more than 24 years experience in information security, smart cards and electronic commerce. He combines a strong understanding of the strategic business issues with a detailed knowledge of the technology, industry players, and the Asia-Pacific market. For the past 4 years, Ian was the Public Sector Identity Management lead for Hewlett-Packard in the Asia-Pacific region, primarily focussed on ePassport projects. He is presently undertaking various contract work through Strategic Consultants, and setting up the Asian arm of SecureWorx which is a Burton Group partner in Asia-Pacific. Ian is Australian, has been based in Hong Kong for 4 years,and has previously lived in Japan and Germany."

Content Biometrics (such as fingerprint, face or iris recognition) are sometimes seen as the strongest type of authentication, but this is not really true. This talk will explore the vulnerabilities of biometrics, when they are the best choice, and when they should not be used.
