Mr. Dale Johnstone

Dale Johnstone has over 16 years experience specialising in information security and risk management, and over 8 years experience in the development of information security management standards.   Dale is the current Chairman of the BS7799 International User Group in Hong Kong and is a member of the BS7799 International User Group based in the UK.

In addition to Dale's role within the BS7799 International User Group, he is a Past Chairman of the Australian Information Security Interest Group and is currently an active member of:

  • ISO Committee JTC1 / SC27 - Security Techniques
  • Standards Australia Committee IT/12/4 - Information Security Management
Dale's expertise includes the management of information security for large national and international based organisations, project managing the development of all facets of organisational information security controls including specialist information security policies and procedures and the implementation of major information security projects.  Dale's background in information security spans a diverse range of industries including: Telecommunications, Transportation, Finance, Defense and Government.

Educated in Australia with a Masters of Business Administration, Graduate Diploma in Communications, Media and Information Technology Law and a Bachelor of Business in information technology, Dale has been involved in the development, adoption and application of information security risk management methodologies in a variety of capacities including standards, managerial and consulting environments
