Edmond graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with major in System Analysis and he received a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies. Edmond also obtained an MBA from the Macquarie University in Sydney. He holds a number of professional qualifications/certifications in the commercial sector and information security industry.

Edmond holds a few certifications:
- IBM Certified Professional – Certified IT Infrastructure Consultant - Security (ICP)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) of the ISACA
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) of ISCAC
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) of DRI
- Certified Project Manager Professional (PMP)
