Benjamin Chan has been an active IT practitioner since 1985. He is now an Advisory
Project Manager of IBM Global Services, specializing in EAI and Data Warehouse
architecture and implementation. With more than 19 years of experience working in
various industries such as the banking sector, finance sector, and Hong Kong SAR
Government, Benjamin has acquired extensive experience and knowledge in business
and project management. His leadership in various projects was well acknowledged
by customers including Citibank, J.P. Morgan Chase, Nomura and Charles Schwab.
Benjamin has in-depth technology knowledge in system design and implementation of EAI,
mainframe CICS applications, J2EE applications, workflow systems, confidential email
systems, XML Security and PKI systems. In 1995, Benjamin successfully assisted an
international bank in obtaining the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Level 3 certification.
In February 2002, Benjamin led the eBusiness Innovation Centre of System Information
Technology (Holdings) Ltd in obtaining the ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Benjamin holds several professional certifications include "Certified Information Systems
Security Professional (CISSP)", "Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)", and "IBM
Certified MQSeries Engineer".
Benjamin obtained his Higher Diploma in Systems Analysis and Professional Diploma in
Information Technology from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and an M.B.A. degree from
the City University of Hong Kong. He also completed an Executive Program in Corporate Strategy
training at the Sloan School of Management of MIT.
Benjamin is now serving as the Hon. Secretary and Treasurer of the Professional Information
Security Association.
